Market share of Mac OS X climbs to 9.93% in January

According to data released by Net Applications, the percentage of computers running Mac OS X increased to 9.93% in January, up from a 9.63% share in December 2008.  Windows continued its downward trend with a market share of 88.26%, down from its 88.68% share just 1 month ago. Apple slips to fourth place in PC Marketshare

Acer’s success in the netbook market has catapulted the company ahead of Apple in terms of PC marketshare.  During the most recent quarter, preliminary data suggests that Apple shipped nearly 1.25 million Macs, putting it in fourth place behind Dell, HP, and Acer with a marketshare hovering around 7%. via Electronista
