What says “I’m an Apple nerd” more than owning your very own Steve Jobs action figure. Sporting Jobs’ trademark Levi jeans and black turtleneck, this figurine ignores no Jobsian detail and even nails Jobs’ hairline, facial stubble, and his New Balance 991 sneakers.
The action figure was first put up for sale by the M.I.C gadget store last week for $79.90. Once word of the Jobs in miniature form hit the web, the company quickly sold all of 300 of the figurines it had available. Unfortunately, if you weren’t one of those lucky 300 folks, you’re plum out of luck. If you visit the M.I.C gadget store now, you’ll notice that the Jobs figurine has been discontinued due to a legal request from Apple.
UPDATE: Apple Inc. has informed us that this phenomenal SJ action figure, has not consented to the use of Apple’s copyrights and trademarks, therefore they request us immediately to cease the marketing and sale of this figure.
According to Chris Chang of Micgadget, Apple’s legal request reads in part, “Unauthorized use of a person’s name and/or likeness constitutes a violation of California Civil Code Section 3344, which prohibits the use of any person’s name, photograph or likeness in a product without that person’s prior consent…”
Damn that pesky California Civil Code.

Kramer: It’s uncanny! It’s like they chopped off your arms and legs, dipped you in plastic, and screwed you back all together, and stuck you on a pedestal. It’s really quite exquisite!

I bet Steve Jobs was part of the 300. At least one to put on his table – for humor, symmetry even.
