Okay, before you fire off an angry email to us about profiling Rush Limbaugh, note that we’re politically independent here at Edible Apple. When Obama uses an Apple product or meets with Steve Jobs, we’ll report it. Similarly, when Rush Limbaugh talks about using OS X Lion, we’re gonna write about it. So let’s put our political leanings aside, shall we?
So off we go.
Limbaugh, the right-leaning and influential political commentator, has one of the most popular radio shows on the planet and a few weeks before OS X Lion officially dropped, he took a short few minutes out of his program to talk about how much he liked the beta version of OS X 10.7.
I’m using it and I love it. I’m using a beta of the new Mac OS X 10.7 Lion, the new operating system. It’s fabulous, Snerdley. The things they’ve done in the mail app are just fabulous. I tell you what they’ve done. They’ve brought so much of the mobile operating system from the iPhone and the iPad over to the computer, it’s… (interruption) Oh, no, I have a developer release. I’m an official registered developer out there. I’m one of the testers here. Everything aboveboard. The latest is it’s gonna release via the Mac App Store, not DVD. No DVD release. (interruption) Well, it’s four gigabytes. It’s gonna depend on what your connection speed is, but July 6th, I think, it’s out. Did I see July 5th or 6th at noon? It’s fabulous. (interruption) Oh, yeah, everything integrates. It’s perfecto. Look, I don’t want to spend time talking about it now; it’s something you have to see. But I’m just telling you I like it. It’s a significant increase.

Oh yeah, he’s an asshole, too.

Really. And if Hitler would have loved Lion, would we disassociate him and his actions from his hobbies ? There’s no reason to mention this creep unless to expose his hypocrisy and nuttiness. This guy has said so many horrible things about so many people he should be boycotted, not quoted. I’m appalled.

Rush actually talks about his love for Apple products all the time. He also has an iPad and an iPhone. Loves them. He’s been an Apple user for years, dating as far back as I can remember.
When I switched in 2001 it was partially based on his positive reviews of Apple products. I bought an iBook (Indigo) running OS 9.

You must be pretty desperate if this is where you go for tech reviews.
