9to5Mac reports that they’ve received photos of what appears to be a white front panel for the iPod Touch.
Specifically, this panel is the digitizer component, according to the iFixYouri iPhone repair shop. We obviously cannot confirm the legitimacy of these photos but according to iFixYouri, they fall in line with the fourth generation iPod touch’s build. Knowing this, these can either be photos of a scrapped white iPod touch 4 in white or (hopefully) photos of the fifth-generation iPod touch’s front panel in white.
It’s no secret that the iPod is no longer Apple’s flagship product as unit sales continue to decline quarter to quarter. The one exception, however, is the iPod Touch which comprises more than 50% of total iPod sales.
While we haven’t heard any rumblings about a significantly revamped iPod Touch this coming Fall, the addition of a new color option and upgraded specs (i.e a dual core A5 processor and hopefully a better camera) should be enough to keep those iPod Touch sales strong.
Check out another photo after the break.
