in an announcement that’s taken every one by surprise, Apple has announced this is the last year that they’ll be participating in the Macworld Expo in San Francisco. And if that wasn’t news in and of itself, the company also announced that showman extraordinaire Steve Jobs would not be delivering the keynote speech this year. Instead, […]

Apple Mudflaps? You’ve got to be kidding me! I don’t even know what to think, but maybe the owner isn’t even an Apple fan, but rather a Microsoft zealot wanting to muddy up the Apple logo!

Microsoft has officially denied rumors suggesting that it was set to unveil a Zune phone at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in January. Instead, Microsoft is set to unveil a new service called “Zune Mobile” that will comprise a series of music related mobile services that will be available to customers with Windows Mobile […]

After being booted from the App Store for “lacking utility” and for presumably being too crude, the “pull my finger” application for the iPhone and iPod Touch is once again available for download. The application, which has a total of 18 different “high quality” fart sounds (and vibrates for realism!), was initially rejected by Apple […]

Morgan Stanley analyst Kathryn Huberty cut her target for Apple's stock down to $95, five dollars less than her previous target of $100. She also lowered expected 2009 iPhone sales to 14 million, down from an original projection of 19 million. First of all, let me go off on a quick tangent here and briefly say, that most analysts are, to be blunt, clueless. Take the recent brouhaha about a $99 iPhone at Walmart for example. One day an analyst says that a $99 iPhone is inevitable. The next day another analyst says that Apple has to release a cheaper iPhone in order to boost sales. Then word gets out that a $99 iPhone isn't happening, and other analysts jump in with the benefit of hindsight and boldly declare that a $99 iPhone was never feasible in the first place. First of all, let me go off on a quick tangent here and briefly say, that most analysts are, to be blunt, clueless. Take the recent brouhaha about a $99

After a lot hype, it now seems that the iPhone is, in fact, coming to Walmart around December 28. While customers won’t be able to pick one up for 99 bucks, Apple’s presence in Walmart will be a huge move for Apple in increasing its distribution. But some are claiming that an Apple/Walmart mix might […]

Getting your song featured on an Apple commercial is a great way for a musician to create band awareness and generate a lot of sales. Feist saw a huge bump in sales when her song “1234” was featured in an iPod Nano commercial, and Yael Naim came out of nowhere when her song “New Soul” […]

Computer Shopper has a very interesting article by Stan Veit, former Editor in Chief of the magazine, about the VERY early days at Apple, and his interactions with Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs way back in the late 1970’s. It’s a very interesting read, and paints an unflattering picture of current Apple C.E.O Steve Jobs. […]
