In a move that in many regards seemed inevitable, Apple last week filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Samsung, claiming that a number of their “Galaxy” line of Android based smarpthones and tablets infringe on Apple’s patents and steal Apple’s intellectual property
“Rather than innovate and develop its own technology and a unique Samsung style for its smart phone products and computer tablets, Samsung chose to copy Apple’s technology, user interface and innovative style in these infringing products,” the lawsuit reads.
Interestingly enough, Apple just happens to be one of Samsung’s biggest customers, with Apple contributing approximately $6 billion to the Korean-based company in 2010 alone.
We’ll have more in-depth coverage on this lawsuit in the days to come.
