Earlier this week, research analyst Peter Misek of Canaccord Adams alleged that initial quantities of the iPad would be in short supply (around 300,000 units) due to a “manufacturing bottleneck.” Given Misek’s atrocious track record when it comes to Apple rumors, it’s not all that surprising that component suppliers for the upcoming iPad have stated that their orders to Foxconn, who will manufacture the device, are on target and won’t be at lesser quantities. The suppliers note that Foxconn will be able to ship 600,000-700,000 iPads in March and 1 million units in April.
Meanwhile, the Examiner writes that Apple employees will get their hands on the iPad as early as March 10 to familiarize themselves with the device and undergo training. Also of note is that Apple will reportedly start airing commercials for the device on March 15, and that people who “camp put for the iPad launch will receive a ‘special gift'”.
