University of Washington offers iPhone/Mac developer certificate

The University of Washington’s Professional and Continuing Education program is now offering a professional certification program for iPhone and Mac development. The program, developed in conjunction with the UW Department of Computer Science & Engineering, as well as an advisory board chock full of top-notch Mac developers, consists of three classes, through which you can earn a “Certificate in iPhone and Cocoa Development.”

… The full certificate program consists of three courses, which includes a total of 90 contact hours. The first, “Programming in Objective-C and the Cocoa Framework,” is designed to give students a good foundation in Objective-C, the Cocoa frameworks, Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines, and some of the more common APIs like Core Data. The second course, “Developing with the iPhone SDK,” covers the iPhone-specific UI and code design patterns. By then end of the course, students should be able to plan and lead development of an iPhone OS app from start to finish.
