New data released by Gartner shows that the smartphone marketshare of the iPhone increased by 111% from Q4 2007 to Q4 2008. Other manufacturers such as RIM and Samsung also experienced impressive growth over the past year. Meanwhile, Nokia’s share of smartphone sales dipped by nearly 17% over the same quarter a year-agoo.
