You know the battery performance issues that continue to plague a good number of iPhone 4S users? Well, Apple today issued a statement to All Things D confirming the existence of a few bugs along with plans to fix them in an impending iOS update.
“A small number of customers have reported lower than expected battery life on iOS 5 devices,” Apple’s statement reads. “We have found a few bugs that are affecting battery life and we will release a software update to address those in a few weeks.”
The impressive battery life, at least on paper, of the iPhone 4S is one of the features that distinguish Apple from its competitors. It wasn’t too long, however, before users began noticing that their battery was being zapped even when their device was in standby mode. While some users were able to rectify the problem by toggling certain location-based services off, others continued to experience subpar battery performance.
Apple had previously acknowledged that they were aware of some iPhone 4S battery issues but now we can rest assured that a software fix is coming. Let’s just hope it isn’t too long of a wait.
