Well it looks as if we spoke to soon. Shortly after releasing yet another iTunes Beta this weekend, Apple today finally released a new version of iTunes (version 10.5.1 to be exact) that now includes iTunes Match. Again, iTunes Match presents users with a $25/yr option whereby all of a user’s music – no matter how it was obtained – will be available from the cloud in high quality audio across a user’s devices.
For the time being, iTunes Match is only available to US customers – which now appears to be a good thing as Apple has already experienced server troubles keeping up with the demand of new sign-ups prompting the company to temporarily postpone new subscriptions. That issues now appears to have been resolved.
