Forget about the iPhone 5, customers are clamoring over the iPhone 4S.
Apple today issued a press release announcing that they sold over 4 million iPhone 4S’ since going on sale this past Friday. What’s more, Apple touts that over 25 million customers are now using iOS 5 in addition to signing up 20 million iCould customers.
“[The] iPhone 4S is off to a great start with more than four million sold in its first weekend—the most ever for a phone and more than double the iPhone 4 launch during its first three days,” Phil Schiller said in the press release. Note that the iPhone 4 last year sold approximately 1.7 million units in the first 3 days it went on sale.
Apple’s impressive sales figures come just a few days after both Sprint and AT&T announced record breaking days with the iPhone 4S. Sprint said the iPhone 4S needed less than 12 hours to become the most successful first-day product launch in company history while AT&T noted that it similarly needed just a few hours to see the number of iPhone 4S activations to effectively double the number of iPhone 4 activations it saw last Summer.
