A few months back, 9to5Mac got their hands on an internal AT&T memo indicating that the insurance rate for the iPhone would increase from $4.99 to 6.99 beginning on October 4th. The original report dates back to mid-July, and given that October 4th has emerged as the date of Apple’s next-gen iPhone announcement, we now know that this AT&T memo was a tell as to Apple’s release plans.
Now another internal AT&T memo has emerged confirming the increase in the rate for AT&T’s Mobile Insurance for the iPhone. Again, the change in insurance becomes effective on October 4th which perhaps suggests that the next-gen iPhone will launch sooner rather than later.
