Apple today released a new iPad 2 commercial titled “If you asked.”
If you ask a parent, they might call it intuitive. If you ask a musician, they might call it inspiring. To a doctor, it’s groundbreaking. To a CEO, it’s powerful. To a teacher, it’s the future. If you ask a child, she might call it magic. And if you asked us, we’d say it’s just getting started.
The commercial shares the same tone as the one used in Apple’s first iPad 2 commercial, dubbed “We Believe.” At the time we wrote,
The thrust of the commercial is that the iPad is not just about technology for technology’s sake; it’s about what one can do with the technology that actually matters. The commercial is particularly apropos given the endless stream of iPad competitors on the horizon that can only compete in the realm of cold hardware specs and offer nothing compelling software-wise.
