Digitimes reports, not too surprisingly, that iPad 2 sales have been selling at a much faster clip than the original. Further, Apple reportedly “took delivery of 2.4-2.6 million units in March.” It’s been no secret, of course, that Apple has been selling iPad 2s in extremely strong numbers, yet they haven’t disclosed any sales figures just yet. That’s all poised to change in a few weeks when the company releases its quarterly earnings report for the Jan-March quarter.
Looking forward, the report notes that Apple will most likely receive 4-4.3 million iPad 2 units per month. Earlier this week, shipping times for the iPad 2 were reduced down to 2-3 weeks, a marked improvement from previous weeks when shipping times were estimated to take as long as 4-5 weeks. The reduced shipping time indicates that Apple is getting a better grasp at balancing its iPad 2 supply and strong demand for its next-get tablet.
