It’s hard to imagine, but there was a time when Microsoft events were huge mainstream affairs. Nowhere was this more apparent than with the momentous launch of Windows 95 which featured the involvement of Jay Leno and the licensing of the famous Rolling Stones song Start Me Up.
While Windows 95 was a yawner for anyone used to using the Mac at the time, the impact of Windows 95 on the mainstream was huge and fundamentally changed the way most people used computers. The video below provides an interesting look back at a piece of Microsoft history and also conjures up a t-shirt for Mac nerds at the time that read, “Macintosh – All the features of Windows 95 since 1984.”
