At 10 a.m tomorrow (PST) at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco, Apple will take the wraps off its long-awaited iPad 2. While rumors about what features we’ll see on the next-gen iPad have fluctuated with alarming regularity, a front-facing video camera along with a thinner form factor are safe bets. You can forget about an SD card slot and a Retina Display, at least for now.
And with the iPad 2 announcement about 24 hours away, Fabio M. Zambelli writes for the Italian website Setteb.it that Steve Jobs will personally unveil the device. Now take this with a huge grain of salt in light of the fact that Jobs is currently on medical leave from Apple to attend to health issues. Indeed, at various Apple events over the past few weeks, including Apple’s annual shareholder meeting which was held last week, Apple COO Tim Cook has been filling in for Jobs.
Is there a chance Jobs might show up? I suppose anything is possible but I wouldn’t bet on it. If he does, though, expect Apple’s stock price to see a significant bump.
