As if we needed more proof that the next-gen iPad will come equipped with front and rear facing cameras, the recently seeded iOS 4.3 Beta 2 contains new visuals which indicate that the iPad 2 will come with FaceTime, Camera, and Photobooth functionality.
The image below (titled homeScreenOverlayFaceTime~ipad.png), courtesy of MacRumors, was found in the iOS 4.3 beta and shows a preview of a wallpaper selection users can choose from. Note the inclusion of FaceTime, Camera, and PhotoBooth icons.
With FaceTime on the horizon, iPad users will finally be able to video chat with both iPhone and iPod Touch owners while the inclusion of PhotoBooth will provide users with a fun way to take photos and video footage with a variety of quirky filters. Indeed, we’ve often wondered why Photobooth, which is arguably a great selling point for certain demographics, isn’t given a permanent spot in the OS X dock.
Incidentally, there’s been a lot of iPad noise lately, with the latest reports indicating that Apple’s second iteration of their popular tablet device will hit stores on either April 2 or April 9. There have also been conflicting reports about whether or not the iPad 2 will include a Retina Display (answer? don’t count on it) though an SD slot appears to be a sure thing.
