Yep, I don’t know why but it does seem as though the kids today are not tooled in the more intricate things we were (I graduated HS in ’78) long ago.

Maybe it has to do with all the extra stuff that has been added to the daily routine. I mean, there are so many other specalized learning projects now, other than the three R’s we got way back then. – LOL!

I tried with my kids and with my grand kids now to enhance the learning as much as I can. There is nothing wrong with teaching more than what is required…

    Take Care,
    Phil

Ah – the good ol’ days. When memorization counted for learning and actual thinking was not encouraged.

Most kids today can find facts quickly; they are learning to apply knowledge for deeper understanding. Parents – keep your standards high & encourage excellence from your kids. You will be shocked at how sharp they can be. Remember, it’s OK for our children to be smarter than us!
