This week kicks off the busiest shopping time of the year and Apple, surprise surprise, is poised to have a monster holiday quarter with its new lineup of Mac notebooks (why hello, MacBook Air) and, of course, it’s impressive lineup of iOS devices leading the way.
According to a recent survey of 2,812 people, ChangeWave found that 10% of respondents are planning on buying a new notebook in the next 90 days, the highest percentage recorded by ChangeWave in the last 3 years. And of that 10%, 36% of respondents are planning on buying a Mac, a jump from 25% the last time ChangeWave conducted a similar survey.
ChangeWave research director Paul Carton commented, “the manufacturer most responsible for the surge in laptop demand is Apple, with 36 percent of planned laptops buyers saying they’ll purchase a Mac, a huge 11 percentage point jump since our previous survey of a month ago.”
“Simply put,” Carton continued, “it’s the highest level of planned laptop buying ever for Apple in a ChangeWave survey.”
