Make no mistake about it, Smule has the music category for iOS devices on lockdown. From Ocarina to the popular T-Pain app, Smule is constantly pushing the envelope and coming up with creative and exciting ways to create and experience music on Apple’s line of iOS devices.
Their most recent creation is called “Magic Fiddle”, and like all of their previous apps, it’s easy enough for a beginner to pick up and play, but powerful enough for those with musical talent to really shine. To wit, check out the Saint Lawrence String Quartet playing a little Canon in D below. Impressive!
And as with most Smule apps, there’s a nice social aspect to Magic Fiddle to the extent that you can compete against and listen to other iPad Fiddle players from across the globe. There’s even a leaderboard that you can slowly ascend as you get better at your craft. The app is $2.99 and is available here on iTunes.
