After two decades with the NBC, Chief Executive Jeff Zucker will no longer be with the company once Comcast takes control. Zucker got a cancellation notice, so to speak, o after failing to turn around dwindling ratings and making questionable business decisions such as the Leno/Conan fiasco from earlier this year.
Now how does this relate to Apple? Well, it was just a few days ago that Zucker explained that NBC Universal will not make their TV shows available as $0.99 downloads from iTunes. Mirroring previous statements from Warner Brothers executives, Zucker explained that making episodes available at such a low pricepoint would devalue NBC’s content. That’s not to say that the new head honcho of NBC Universal will feel any differently, but we’ll find out soon enough.
