Steve Jobs is back to his old tricks again, this time emailing a user who wanted to know if iPhone syncing over wi-fi would ever come to the Mac. Jobs’ answer – “Yep, someday.”
Hmm, “someday” seems to imply that it’s gonna happen much later than sooner, but at least the feature is seemingly on Apple’s radar.

WiFi syncing between the iPhone and the Mac is technically trivial, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Apple couldn’t do it with a simple software upgrade, as the hardware in both devices already support WiFi. I suspect that problems has almost entirely to do with third-parties, that is, Apple’s agreements with A&T, though Apple may also be concerned about the iPhone’s battery life, because, as evidenced by Sprint’s HTC EVO 4G, acting as WiFi hotspot is very draining on a smartphone’s battery.
