In less time than it took for an average iPhone pre-order to go through AT&T’s system, iFixit got its hands on Apple’s brand new MacMini and did what they do best – tore that sucker apart.
Below is the old model sitting atop the new model, just to give you an indication of how much sleeker the new MacMini is.
The black plate which dons the bottom of the device is as easy to remove as Apple advertises. Just a simple counter-clockwise twist, iFixit notes.
Regarding the fan, iFixit found this little nugget:
All three fan screws are isolated with rubber dampers; a feature not seen on older apple machines. Low noise and vibration are big selling points for Apple these days, and the new Mini’s idle emission of 14 dB is a testament to those design goals.
Not to be all Marge Simpson, but that’s pretty neat.
And when all was said in done…

How do they cram all that Graham? To this day, Apple never ceases to amaze me!
