Modmyi obtained what it claims is an internal AT&T memo indicating that only the black iPhone 4 will be available on launch day. While pre-orders for the white model will remain open, the memo says that the device won’t be available until later this Summer.

Keep in mind, though, that this white iPhone 4 shortage may only apply to AT&T stores. We would hope that the white model iPhone 4’s will be available at Apple retail stores on June 24th.

Meanwhile, the German Mac site Macerkopf is also reporting that the white iPhone 4 won’t be available on launch day from Deutsche Telecom.

Incidentally, iPhone pre-orders begin tomorrow.
