For a limited time, O2 is offering iPhone customers an early opportunity to upgrade to the next-gen iPhone even if they’re not currently eligible for a standard upgrade. For a fee of 20 pounds (about $32) for each month remaining on an ineligible contract, users can pay off the remaining balance on their contract at a discounted rate and subsequently purchase the new iPhone 4 at the subsidized price. This deal isn’t as good as AT&T’s but the intent is the same – to keep iPhone users on board for as long as possible.
