Netflix CEO Reed Hastings joined Steve Jobs on stage this past Monday to announce that an iPhone version of everyone’s favorite movie subscription service is just a few short weeks away. Much like Netflix apps on other platforms, the iPhone version of Netflix will be free and will let users resume playback from where they last left off across different devices. Also on tap is adaptive video playback which will enable video streams to seamlessly switch back and forth between networks.
The app will hit iTunes later this Summer.
Lastly, Hastings made a point of noting that the Netflix app for the iPad has been one of the top 10 most downloaded apps in the App Store since it first launched.
