TechCrunch reports:
Microsoft Bing will replace Google in the next version of the iPhone operating system to be released in June, we’ve heard from mulitple sources, including a high level source who claims to have been briefed on the matter. We’re not calling this more than a rumor yet, but one thing is sure – our sources close to Google in particular are speaking freely about this as fact. In January Business Week reported that Microsoft and Apple were in talks over an iPhone search deal, and the deal certainly would be brilliant for Microsoft.
Brilliant for Microsoft? Undoubtedly. But hopefully Apple has enough brains to not make Bing the default. Competition is great and all, and say what you will about Google, but the fact remains that their search engine, despite some of its faults, is still far and away vastly superior than Microsoft’s offering.
For a company as dedicated to quality as Apple, I’d hope that they won’t let their beef with Google cloud their judgement as it pertains to the default search engine on the iPhone. Bing search as an option on the iPhone, on the other hand, would be just fine.

I think Bing is great. Bing. Bing. Bing. Call it like I see it.
