Starting on Tuesday, bargain hunters at Wal-Mart will be able to purchase a 16GB iPhone 3GS for just $97. Yep, you read that correctly. A paltry $97 buckaroos. Previously, the the 16GB 3GS sold for $197, but with a new iPhone poised for release in just the next few weeks, Wal-Mart is already taking steps to clear out inventory ahead of the latest and greatest from Apple.
Earlier today, Apple confirmed that Steve Jobs will deliver the WWDC keynote on June 7th where he is expected to showcase the next iteration of the iPhone. While there may still be some features and announcements Apple has been able to keep under wraps, what we do know about the upcoming iPhone is that it will sport a new form factor, come with a front facing video camera for video conferencing, and include a higher quality still camera with flash. And if history is any indication, we can also expect improved performance alongside lengthier battery life.
