As expected, Apple today refreshed the entry level white MacBook. Still checking in at $999, the new model now comes with a high-performance NVIDIA GeForce 320M graphics card, a 2.4Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 2 GB of RAM, and an impressive 10 hours of battery life. The previous MacBook, which was last refreshed in October 2009, came with 7 hours of battery life.

Make no mistake, battery optimization is clearly a top priority for Apple as a product differentiator going forward. Remember, the 10+ hour battery life on the iPad blew people’s minds, and in just 6 months, Apple upped the battery life on the MacBook by a solid 3 hours. Well, we’d bet good money that the upcoming iPhone 4G will see significant battery life improvements as well.
