You know, I think I saw a photo of a MacBook Air on a milk carton recently. Apple’s slim and trim notebook just hasn’t been getting any love lately, and it’s been more or less overlooked in the face of MacBook upgrades, iPhone OS updates, and the iPad release. In fact, the last time Apple updated the MacBook Air was in June 2009 when it upped the processor speed while dropping the entry level price for the device down to $1499. Okay, 11 months isn’t all that long, but it sure feels like it’s been a while since we’ve seen an update.
All that said, Macworld Australia is reporting that Apple is poised to update the MacBook Air later this week, perhaps as early as Tuesday, May 11. A well placed and reliable source who is well acquainted with Apple inventory levels told the publication that thousands of units referenced under a new product code are already en route to Australia.
