For the first time in its history, Internet Explorer’s marketshare has dipped below 60%. According to recent data covering the month of April from NetApplications, the percentage of browsers running IE dropped 0.7 points to 59.95% in the month of April. Back in June of 2009, IE’s share came in at 68.32%. And for some historical context, IE’s marketshare in 2004 was slightly higher than 90%.
Talk about a fall from grace.
With regards to other browsers, Chrome inched higher with a 6.73% share while Apple’s Safari also saw a slight increase with a 4.72% marketshare.
