The reportedly blazing fast Opera Mini web browser for the iPhone still hasn’t been accepted into the iTunes App Store. Apple, of course, doesn’t take too kindly to apps which replicate the functionality of Apple’s built-in programs, though the folks behind Opera Mini maintain that their app is 100% in accordance with Apple’s developer guidelines.
Opera Software generated quite a few headlines when it unveiled an online clock to measure how long before Apple accepts the app into iTunes. Some at the time believed that the wave publicity surrounding its submission would help catapult it onto iTunes no sweat. But, alas, it’s now been nearly 20 days and still no word from Apple.
And so the wait continues.
