Apple today announced the release of Aperture 3, the latest update to its popular photo editing and management software. Some of the 200+ new features in the latest release include support for Faces and Places, which first made their debut in iPhoto ’09, along with a new feature called “Brushes” which allows users to “paint image adjustments” onto selected photos. Apple’s press release also touts the ability to add professional quality photo effects with just one click, along with a collection of new slideshow options that cleverly weave together video, photos, audio, and text.
Aperture 3 will retail for $199, though current Aperture owners can upgrade for $99. If you’ve never used Aperture but are curious about what it can do, a free 30 day trial of the software can be downloaded from Apple over here.
