So much for the “pundits” who proclaimed the tablet would run at $999. Steve Jobs said Apple wants to these babys into as many hands as possible, with prices starting as low as $499. The $499 version is a 16GB iPad with no 3G connectivity. 16GB with 3G comes in at $629.
The iPad comes with accessories like a standard Apple keyboard dock along with a carrying case. The carrying case also works as a stand. Nice!
Jobs says that the wi-fi versions of the iPad will begin shipping in just 60 days. The 3G models in 90 days.
