TUAW reports on a a company called Gamesalad which enables users to create iPhone games using a “game creator development tool.”
There’s also a $1999 membership service that lets you customize every aspect of your games, and provides you with direct customer support, which is supposed to be for “elite users” (like, we guess, actual game companies).
… It costs nothing to download and try out the creator, so if the idea interests you, you can work on putting a game together, and then pay later when you decide you’ve got something you want published on the iPhone.
Seems like a cool idea, and it’ll be interesting to see how in-depth some of the games using the Gamesalad creator tool actually are. Below is a promo video highlighting the design process using Gamesalad. At the very least, it’s an intriguing concept.
