Today I was audio chatting with a friend via iChat and noticed that while the chat was on-going, iChat no longer played any alert sounds when I sent an instant message or received one.  It’s not a big deal unto itself, but it’s certainly a nice tweak, and definitely an example of Apple polishing the user experience with the utmost attention to detail.  Rather than just loading up on features and functions and not looking back, Apple takes the time to actually think about something as seemingly trivial as alert sounds on iChat and how they might interfere with an audio chat.  Again, not a big deal, but one of the great things about using a Mac is that you periodically run into similar examples of interesting tweaks that, when taken together, help to make the Mac OS second to none.
