Hot on the heels from earlier reports that Apple is poised to announce a tablet this October with a price point in the neighborhood of $800 comes news that this mythical tablet will feature PA Semi’s chip designs. If you recall, it’s been a little over a year now since Apple acquired P.A Semi, a boutique microprocessor design company known for their sophisticated, and more importantly, low-power chips.
So what exactly have the PA Semi team been up to since being acquired by Apple?
Venture Beat chimes in:
But we’ve learned that PA Semi’s team was split into two parts, one designing portable ARM-based processors for iPhones and iPods, and another designing a processor for the tablet device.
