Infectious is a company that manufacturers “skins” for iPhones, iPods, and Apple laptops, and now we’re getting word that they’re running a contest where design-minded folks can submit their own laptop skin designs for a grand prize that includes a cool grand in cold hard cash, $100 off Infectious products, and 5% of net sales from your design to boot.
The contest, which is called the “Cut to the Core Design Challenge”, ends on August 4th, so there’s still plenty of time to crank up Photoshop and get busy. Some of the important rules to keep in mind include:
- It’s recommended not to use the Apple logo itself in the design (after all, the back of every MacBook already has one)
- Designs need to be composited onto a laptop
- Winning designs will be made into 13, 15, and 17 inch Laptop Art. That being the case, submitted designs will need to scale to accommodate all of the above sizes.
Complete info regarding the contest can be found over here.
And to get your mind working, or if you need some inspiration, here are some of the better submissions that have already been sent in.
And lastly, we suppose the design below is perfect for the country Mac user.
