I really don’t buy this figure at all, unless you’re referring to brute forcing a semi-crappy app into the top 100, in which case maybe its semi-accurate.
While there’s been a lot of talk about how it’s becoming impossible for apps to standout in the 50,000 strong iTunes App Store, does anyone out there have an example of a kickass app that is struggling to stay afloat simply because word hasn’t gotten out yet?
