It seems that we can’t go a day without getting a new nugget of info about what the upcoming iPhone has in store.  But hey, we’re not complaining.

Most recently, MacRumors uncovered the screenshot to the right in the iPhone OS 3.0 firmware.  As you can see, the interface contains a toggle switch for taking either photos or videos.  At this point, it’s all been but confirmed by Apple that the next-gen iPhone will include video recording capabilities.

A user was able to discover the pertinent screenshot by modifying configuration files in the firmware in such a way that the iPhone “believed” that a video camera was present in the hardware.  Those sneaky bastards!

According to MacRumors, some of the other notable configuration files found reference an “auto-focus camera”, a “magnetometer” (i.e a digital compass), and “Voice Control”.

Apple sure is pouring in tons of features into the 3.0 update.  What’s really crazy is that there are undoubtedly others waiting to be revealed when Apple officially announces the next iPhone model.
