After being blindsided by the iPhone, Motorola’s place in the mobile space began what seemed to be a never ending freefall. As consumers flocked to smartphones en masse, Motorola had a difficult time competing with its once mighty Motorola RAZR. Today, however, Motorola announced a new touchscreen phone that evokes images of both the iPhone and the upcoming Palm Pre. And whadya know, the device is actually called the QA4 Evoke! If the iPhone and the Pre had a baby, it might look something like the Evoke below:
The phone has a 2.8 inch touchscreen, a built in accelerometer, a vertically positioned pullout QWERTY keyboard, a 2 Megapixel camera, GPS, stereo bluetooth, and video recording capabilities. The phone will be CDMA based, and will therefore run on both Sprint and Verizon, but there’s still no word on price or a release date.
You can check out more pictures and features of the device over at Motorola’s website, over here.
