MacRumors reports that Apple has wisely removed all old non-customer reviews from the App Store. Initially, the app store was plagued with app reviews from customers who quite obviously had never even used, or let alone purchased, the application they were reviewing. This became somewhat of a nuisance as it’s hard to ascertain the quality of a game when people who haven’t used an app write, “This game has a stupid name. Fail.”
This isn’t too big of a news story, though – Since September, Apple has only allowed reviews from customers who actually downloaded the program in question. I suppose, though, that removing all of the old non-customer reviews is akin to Apple doing some routine housecleaning, and taking out some old trash.
