The New York Times is reporting that Amazon.com will today make available a new application that will allow users to browse the Amazon store directly from their iPhone or iPod Touch.
One of the more intriguing aspects of the application will be a feature called “Amazon Remembers” which will allow users to take a photo of something in the real world, upload it to the cloud via their device whereupon an Amazon employee will then try and match the photo with a product from Amazon’s store. Amazon notes that this process won’t yield instantaneous results, but will rather take anywhere between 5 minutes and 24 hours. It will be interesting to see if users find this service beneficial, or absolutely pointless.

Fine application – but why not Amazon in other countries as well – for instance amazon.co.uk?
