Who would have thought that dropping FireWire from the MacBook would have resulted in such a firestorm?! This isn’t the first time, though, that Apple has ruffled a few feathers by leaving out a feature or two. The most obvious example is Apple’s decision not to include a floppy drive on the original iMac. At the time, it was quite a controversial and bold move by Apple, but one that would be proven keen and forward-thinking in the following years. I wouldn’t be surprised if most kids today don’t even know what a floppy drive is. For a list of other features that Apple has killed in the past, Technologizer has an interesting list which can be read here.
