Apple vs. The Rumor Sites

Apple is notorious for going after those who leak information about upcoming product releases.  But it seems that Apple’s grip might be loosening a bit.  These days, it’s not uncommon for sites like Appleinsider and MacRumors to have the inside scoop on Apple products even weeks in advance.  Most recently, 9to5Mac had a scoop on a supposed new manufacturing process Apple is developing.  And in all of this, Apple has remained uncharacteristically silent.  What gives?  Nicholas Ciarelli, founder of the pioneering (and now defunct) Apple rumor site “Think Secret” has an interesting article over at The Daily Beast that explores a few reasons why Apple isn’t going after rumor sites as aggressively as it once did.
