In conjunction with the rumor that the much ballyhooed brick is a new and innovative manufacturing process are the rumors that there will be a significant price cut in subsequent MacBooks and MacBook pros. This seems to make sense in light of of Peter Oppenheimer’s claim last July that Apple will soon be issuing state of the art products at prices their competitors can’t match. The state of the art products could easily be the next iterations of the MacBook Pro and regular MacBook, and given Apple’s yet to be announced innovation in manufacturing, those products might soon be released at prices once thought to be unheard for Apple products. Even more amazing, and of course this is still just speculation, is that this new manufacturing process will allow Apple to cut prices while still maintaining its healthy margins.
